If Apple continues like that, producing fancy peripherals in palce of computers as it shuld be by the en of next year we are gonna see infomertials overflood by Apple products and with 1.4 GHz powermacs in the market.
Apple is doing a smoke bomb because of its incapacity of producing computers faster than PC's and trying to develop a OS superior and efficient than OS9.
BECAUSE JAGUAR IS NOT AS RELIABLE, FLEXIBLE, COMPATIBLE AND FRIENDLY THAN OS 9 !!!

No! Who do you think apple are a computer company? This must mean a 62Gb iPod Photo with exclusive hand knitted woolen botties and ear muffs. Or maybe a slightly different shade of pink mini
Give us Apple mac computers!!!

Have you tried:
http://trinity.neooffice.org/
It tracks OO fairly closely. Right now it's at 1.1.3. I'm not sure when it will catch up to OO 2.0, though. No X11 required. It uses OS X Java2D and does a good job, especially in the latest releases, integrating with OS X.
ill keep an eye on neooffice thanks for the heads up daveL

Was also looking forward to this until I saw the review. They say the problems are all in execution, not concept, and that's where Wii games have to shine the most.
I actually like IGN's Wii reporting - as judged by the spate of reviews in the last few days, they aren't afraid to give out 5s and 6s (Cooking Mama, Wing Island, Kororinpa) - anti-grade inflation. I wouldn't buy or not buy solely on their word, but it helps. Even if they are a pair of punks.
Think this is a "wait until it's $19.99" game.
I think the problem is the reviews, IGN reviews are generally trash.

Until clients want more secure encryption of things, the G5 has little use. That G5's only advantage other than a faster processor is that it can process much larger numbers (twice that of standard 32bit processors). That can make for a much more secure encryption code. Motorola sees not the need for this, so we will not see the G5 focused on until then. IBM is our best bet. huh??!?!
Motorola has already shipped the G5. They're known as the 8540 and the 8560. Yes, these chips weren't designed for Apple (a 75xx would be the G5 for Apple). I don't understand your point.
BTW, the G4's aren't going into cell phones and "other mobile products". They're too expensive and just plain overkill. G4's are being used for communication routers and switchers along with Macs. Moto has other chip lines that go into celly's and pda's.

I'm not sure, I think it's perfectly possible to see a 1Ghz this soon, but the SuperDrive? ...I'm not so sure.
Lets see if his other predictions about iPhoto 2 and 10.2.1 span out.

um no, that probably is not going to happen. apple has it's high-end laptop and it's more consumer-friendly laptop, I doubt they would introduce a even lower-end model, not even for education purposes. just my 2 cents though.

That's strange, the console version should be a bit faster then the gui version. Especially on older/slower machines. All of the cpu power goes to crunching the WU, there isn't a bit that helps the graphics card making the picture, so the console version should be faster.
I see where you're coming from but the gui client only has a gui if you tell it to display the protein. it defaults to not showing so there is nothing to use system resources.
I have folded 8 large units on my G4 500 and all of them got 10% or so in the time it took the terminal client to get about 1-2%. using the gui client I had it set to accept the proteins above 5mb. it always took about 8-10 days to do 1 wu and I would get about 250+ points for each so they were large.

no what i mean is IF he has all his info showing that he owns the 360 then they (MS) should communicate with the police to get this taken care of. if the police has all the info showing his house was broken into and other info. then MS should give out the info to the police to be able to track it down. if your 360 was stolen and they used it to start buying arcade games using your CC info then what would you say about it, you would want it back wouldn't you
the whole reason each 360 has its own ID number is to track them down in case they was stolen. seem's like MS isn't doing what they set out to do with the unique ID identification of the 360 or XBOX. now if your 360 was stolen wouldn't you want to see your 360 returned or let the thieves keep it so you would have to buy another one. so your basicity telling me that MS should do nothing, even tho they implemented a ID system to track down a said system if this was to happen and not use it to help get the said system back and to catch the thieves.
you seem to be one of those people that side with the thieve to me. if you ask me i think everything should be done that can be don't to catch them and get the system back no questions asked.

Dose any one leave it on the hole night? I whould but i dont know if its good for the ps3.
According to one of the Sony execs (I can't remember which one) it's fine to leave it on all night as far as the PS3 itself goes. And if it does somehow break it's definitely under warranty.

I was looking at servers on Sun's website (don't know why, because I don't have that kind of money) and I noticed they offer two kinds of keyboards, UNIX and Windows. What's the difference?

the explanation might be as simple as :
1. The TiBook is the best looking machine, and they just wanted to use it.
2. The designers laying out the web page are oblivious to computers and just decided to go with option nr. 1.
A looong while back I took a screen capture of a microsoft XP teaser movie where the people are shown browsing wirelessly on a Pismo Powerbook..... I posted that on maccentral I believe. Oh, wait, I retrieved it, here goes:

don't leave out proteus... its like adium, but more things are customizable... which is why I use it, I can't make the contact list look the way I want it to in Adium. Also, the main reason for me Proteus is superior, IM windows have the tabs on the side, so you can see what the tab says if you are talking to more then 3 people.

I am shopping around for a new notebook. Came across this last night. It is called the Northgate X-Book (http://www.northgate.com/content/products/notebook_desktops/xnotebook/). It has up to a 2.8 Ghz P4. That is 2.0 Ghz faster than the PowerBook. Now that is some freakin' power.
X-Book is a minimum 2-3.5 times faster. Since it is faster, I don't need a 5 hour battery when I can get the job done in 2 hours. I would rather spend my time to kick back and read a book, listen to music, or spend time with my family.
Apple better get its a** in gear soon.
